2006 Over In Long Beach
Brahmas Just Miss Post-Season

|
| Left winger Jared Aulin led the Brahmas this season with 86 points. |
Long Beach's bid to return to the post season fell short this year as the Brahmas had to settle for 9th in the deep Jim
Beam conference. Long Beach finished at 36-32-12 with 84 points, just 4 points back of the teams rival the Reno Riptide.
With the season over the obvious reason for the Brahmas missing the playoffs seem to be key injuries throughout the season.
Roman Turek went down for three weeks before he was dealt away to the Prowlers while sniper Marian Gaborik missed 24 games
while Eric Brewer missed 19 games of the 35 games he was a Brahmas blueliner.
There was some bright spots this season though. Jared Aulin and Nils Ekman put up some spectacular numbers with
86 and 85 points respectively. The blueline improved over the course of the season with solid acquisitions in Jiri Fischer
and Eric Brewer while Tomas Vokoun had solid numbers in net for the Brahmas.
With the offseason beginning the Brahmas are really excited about 2007. No player off the pro roster is without
a contract for next season while having almost 17 million dollars in cap room available where GM Hockin hopes to land a star
forward and possibly a defenseman too. Long Beach sits on two 1st round picks, both to be mid-round picks while its
expected that Jeff Carter will begin his rookie capaign in Long Beach in 2007. Although they missed the playoffs, the
Brahmas are looking good right now.

Franchise Records Shattered

|
| Jared Aulin has already broken Brahmas records for assists and points. |
2006 marked a season where many of the Brahmas past franchise records were broken, if not destroyed by players this season.
Jared Aulin lead the way with 52 assists and 86 points, both team records by large amounts. With that said Aulin looks
to crack the century mark next season.
In goal, despite not being in Long Beach all season Tomas Vokoun broke the team wins mark by a goalie which was set by
who was dealt away for in Roman Turek. Vokoun broke Turek's record of 27 and replaced it with 34. If Vokoun can
improve on those numbers expect the Brahmas to be right back in the playoffs in 2007.
